hi, Denise
Grandma, Mom,My sisters & I would sit on the porch snapping~ Mom & I on the swing Cindy & Diana(sisters) on the steps and Grandma in her green metal rocker~ then~ When we would get so many Grandma would start the process~ oh, my that kitchen would get hot~ front & back screen doors open~ 2 windows open, but still warm breezes would not cool the kitchen down until dusk~ then during the night the popping!!!Wonderful memories~giggles~
To this day I still snap mine on the porch, but Hubby & I now~ and I freeze mine~
Wonderful memories you brought back~ and Grandma's beans always tasted sooo goood!!!

that is such a pretty picture Denise....love green beans out of the garden!!!!!!!! yumm!!!!!!!!
Love fresh beans and lots of memories.
Wouldn't be home without Mamaw's fresh green beans, and her blazing hot kitchen!
Wonder why the porch? My grandmother would snap hers on the porch as well as shell peas, shuck corn, the whole nine yard garden thing. I sit inside with the air on and do mine. The deer kept me from having so many to do this year. Maybe a blessing as it has been so hot. Thanks for bringing to mind the great memory of my childhood and my grandmother.

I spent some time snapping beans myself today. So relaxing. What a wonderful picture.

We'd snap for hours while mom canned. Then after the work and ice cream cone as payment. Times as siblings we'll never forget. Thanks for the dear reminder.
Snappin' beans is a favorite memory of mine...and our family has been known to get together for a bean cannin' bee every now and then - we all sit outside and snap...one particular chore I never minded....and nothing like the sound of those jars sealing...."Green beans in the garden, clean clothes on the line - we've got a lot to be thankful for...and Lord I thank you..." :o) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
