do you remember....

do you remember the library truck ................................ oh my goodness, i do!...................... this is one from the 1930's .......................... was hoping to find one from the 1950's that Ms. Hensley drove ................................ she would stop by Granny's store during the summer ......................... my day was complete on "library truck day".................... i could take as long as i wanted .................... run my fingers across all the books  .......................... take them down one by one , and make my final choice ......hand her my library card (that Gran kept safe inside the store) and i would be off to sink deep into the chair at the back of the store to engulf myself into each book i had selected ................................. then read over and over until the next stop of "the library truck"........................
.......................................... i am blessed !

Neat photo! We have a library RV on base that drives through housing and the kids gather at the stops to look through the books. It's great because many of the wives from out of country don't drive or are one car families.

Yes, I remember those summers, waiting for the "Bookmobile" to come. I'd have a stack so tall, it was always difficult to walk back home. I loved books, though, and spent a lot of the summer with my nose in one. Wish they still did this today. . .

The General Store where the bookmobile stopped was across from my house and I would sit on the swing waiting for it to come. Still love going to the library. Thanks for the memory
