the bluebird lamp.....

my mom loved antique lamps......i wish i had pictures of all of them............our daughters have kept quite a few of the special ones....(and two that are quite unusual, that nobody could bare to give up, but ugly!)...........................................i really am more of a crock, jug lamp kinda gal........but i did keep this one...................................a small little, fabric lined blue bird......i love the daintiness of it, and it reminds me so of her................................she loved bluebirds, but that is another post for another time.............................................................i am blessed!

Love your site-that is a beautiful lite! I have a antique stained glass lite in my old dry sink that I burn at nite that was my Mom's. I keep a 40 watt bulb burning so I can find my way around at nite since my husband is now sleeping in a hospital bed on the first floor. He is taking chemo treatments and hopefully will get over this! Alanna

I also have this lamp but without the fabric on the inside. I remember this lamp at my grandmothers house when I was a child and my mother inherited it and now I have it. The thing that got me searching online about this tonight was the feedback booth at the end of The Antiques Roadshow. A lady held up her bluebird lamp and said she was surprised to find out that a Yankee in Waterbury, CT had made such a sweet southern lamp.
I have always loved this lamp and am happy to see others with it also!
