oh my .......minerva!

as i walked in the room where my blue minerva dolls reside.........i glanced over to see a little bit of discombobulation!............a tiny blue minerva was a little out of sorts....a little weary....a little on the tired side..........like she had been through a little rough patch.....................i leaned over to have a little talk with her...................."oh my....minerva.....I know exactly how you feel".........things will get better.....................................i am blessed!

side by side......

two special days.........side by side..........just like the two of them.............................today was daddy's birthday & tomorrow mother's day............what better way to honor the both of them.......missing them more than i can say, but non the less honoring them this day still side by side....................blessed by two wonderful parents, that could not have showed me any more everlasting love...........................................i am blessed!

back porch sittin'......

......................the birds are singing, calling me to come visit them for awhile.........slow down.......breath............soak it all in.........enjoy all that i have been given..............................i am blessed!

good-bye old friend.....

well...... it has been a long time coming.....we have taken the step & purchased a NEW bed!.......this will be the first piece of new furniture we have ever purchased (besides our stove & fridge)............................this old iron bed has been part of us for over 25 years, saying good-bye i am sure will be a little difficult....................................i don't adapt to change very well................i am sure when our new pencil post canopy arrives, we set it up, i get it stained and our new QUEEN mattress set on......i will have a few moments of "oh my gosh, what have i done"....always do!.............................but hopefully the transition will be a good one..................this is a photo of last summer's lighter look with the painter's cloth cover..................."good-bye old friend"......................................i am blessed!

a little touch of ticking.....

i so love a good slice of old ticking.....it is a little hard to come by these days...................i do love it, but i have a dear friend that loves it even more..............................everytime i see a piece, i think of her.....when i run across a new pattern, i think of her.............................yesterday i had the privilege of spending a few hours with her & sharing in her passions of blue calico..ticking.. birds..nests..........and now chickens!....................................what a dear friend she has been over the years and what a joy it was to just share a little touch of ticking .......love you linda!..............................i am blessed!

soaking up sweetness.....

yesterday was my day to deliver a meal to a family from church with a new little wee one.......not only was i anxious to see her and smell her tiny little sweetness .............i was wanting to soak up the sweetness of the day.......you know, when the air is just right..the sounds of the country are still , except for nature it's self.....the warm fresh air on my face as i drove with my window down....oh my the sights to behold....forsythia, weeping cherry, my first redbud, and i think i spied a tiny little dogwood popping out ............................oh and this tiny little field near us full of daffodils......................................i am blessed!
