a time to create.....

the last few days have been long...tiring...&... hot!       

the days where i need to accomplish much .....

the days where i will always second guess myself ... & ..... 

wonder why i do it all .............

it is open house time ..... times of fake pies & pumpkins .... gourds & mums......

i wish I could pace myself better & enjoy the process ...... anyway ..... however you look at it ....

i am blessed!

reminder.....

sometimes we just need little reminders ..... like the moment you step out of the car ..... find a perfect little heart leaf in the parking lot, with no other leaves around ......... in these hot days of summer ... our beautiful flowers start to fade ...............

but ..... LOVE. remains!

cooling off .....

sometimes we just need to cool off ..... cool off from all the bad in our world ...... the ugliness that surrounds us ........ so blessed that i could just stop in the middle of our little country road & take in all of this goodness ......... & ...... cool off!

Summer days.....

those beautiful summer days ..... when the garden phlox is blooming that brilliant lavender ..... the smell of fresh cut grass ..... with the sound of the sweet hum of a distant tractor ..... county fair in the days to come .....

             i am blessed !

leather britches.....

i can't believe it is time to string the leather britches again ....... seems just yesterday i sat on the porch to string last years greens ..................           what a calming ..... satisfying chore  .......  as I sit with string & needle in hand , i can't help but think of ladies in the past that preserved their goods for the coming winter in such fashion ........... probably with worn hands ... an old tattered house dress .... loose

 

apron strings & a few little ones hanging off the rocker & sitting on the porch steps listening to Mamma sing an old hymn as she holds the needle & string in hand .... in the same fashion as i............

watermelon sweet!

.............. the month of July!   ....... when hay fields are cut .... county Fair's on the brink , with sweet grands showing their livestock for the first time.... taking pride in projects .... a birthday thrown into to chaos of the fair & the most precious of all ...... the baptism of our first born grand ........ life is "watermelon sweet"!
