this old log house just touches my heart.....we pass it at least three times a week and I never fail to glance her way!......is she still standing....has another part of the roof fallen in....has another window been shattered by the elements........oh if I could only save her!......I love old log houses, and the thought of her sitting there all alone and just waiting...........oh my goodness, it breaks my heart. she has had a good life, and oh the stories I am sure she could tell us....................put another log on the fire....stitch one stitch two....Johnnie has gone off to war.....the signs are right, let's put in the garden....put up the quilting frames......blow out that kerosene lamp sweetie..............................
Oh by the way.....I have gotten permission to walk a little closer, and pay her a visit! .....I am so blessed!

Are those truly logs??? We were able to save an old log cabin--it's condition was worse than the one you posted! Have you asked about restoring it?? Ours was given to us because it was on a list of endangered buildings that the historical society wanted to see preserved. Ours isn't completely finished but we were able to use it for Christmas and it is "a labor of love" for dh and I in putting it back together! I love seeing it in our backyard!!
Sandy.....I have not asked, but my hubs, the kind man that he is...would not have the same passion as I......he has tolerated much from me, but that would not get passed a nod!.....I asked once.."wouldn't you just love to find an old log cabin and restore it?"...the reply.."NOT REALLY!".....my passion, not his... :-(
