tattered.....................worn.......................in pieces............................oh the stories it could tell me...........................this is my most prized bonnet.......................... the beginning of my passion for blue calico.........................................over 30 yrs. ago granny had me go through scraps of fabric & such..................................rolled up....tied with string.........................my heart began to flutter a bit..................my great grandmother's old blue calico bonnet...................what a precious gift for a great grand daughter..................................so fragile.......what shall i do with it ..........................for now it lays in an old weathered basket with other calico friends......too fragile to reassemble....................so i just look over occasionaly.......take in a sigh .......and think of her in her garden.........or gathering eggs.....................or calling in the cow.............oh my goodness.............................................i am so blessed!

You so made me remember cutting the strips of cloth then rolling them up in a ball, I so enjoyed doing that with my Mom & Grandma!
