Cora's work......

just a couple of pieces from Grandmother Cora's work............................this is the family register i mentioned in the previous post.......................it was rolled up.......tied ......with these pieces inside...........my framer was delighted and loved the challenge of putting the pieces together........ these pictures are horrible......but i did want to share the best i could........this being the center of the picture....................................the few names on here a barely legible......................

i love the calligraphy.......................and the painted flowers that frame the whole picture......

what a wonderfully talented lady she was.............................

this is the original wedding certificate of my Great Grandparents ................ we have had it digitally copied with the names taken out and used it for our daughters when they married .... and a couple of cousins as well .......................... we filled in their information and now they have a piece of our heritage ........................................... notice where the discoloration is ....... that was from the crack in the glass in it's original frame .......... my aunt jean, knew i loved this ........ had it reframed, and brought it to me at a craft show, when i was set up years ago ....................... i still remember the feeling of opening it in front of alot of customers, and bursting into tears ........ love you aunt jean ......... thank you for sharing this wonderful piece of heritage with me .....

Levi & Cora......

1894..............this is Levi & Cora Burnworth............................my paternal great~grandparents...................grandpa passed before i was born, he was a minister & farmer.................................................................grandmother was one talented woman, a hard worker...............................an artist.....................................i have a few of her beautiful paintings...(she would never sign them....said they weren't good enough)....... my aunt gave me their beautiful wedding certificate that she painted..............and i have a geneology chart that was in pieces, headed for the trash......it has wonderful calligraphy & painting, but never finished.....i am way to sentimental for my own good.......but it is preserved.....framed.........and hopefully Mayah will love it that grammy took the time to save a piece of history for her.........................................grandmother was blind in her later years, but was still able to pick up the brush and do a little painting..............................i can still see her ......with her wonderful silver hair and captivating smile.............................and always loved that i took the time to give her a hug .................................................................................................i am blessed !

okay............i think it only the right thing to do, since i featured two yesterday...........to give you the whole crew.........................this was Easter...................................Carter (5)....holding Mayah ( his baby sister (now 5 mo.)........................Asher (17 mo).............................Cooper (3 )...(brother to Carter & Mayah) yep......Grammy's brag book..........................................................i am blessed !

weekend celebrations....

i have been a busy grammy.......................................i left last wednesday to help prepare for two big celebrations at our daughter's home near Fort Wayne...............a four hour drive for me.......but oh so worth the joys............................................................................Cooper turned "3"........as our daughter described him....."he exudes pure joy"....can you tell ........i so wish i could bottle his laughter..................................... and our grand daughter Mayah's baby dedication on Sunday......................................what a happy girl..................................maybe she will be as "bubbly " as Cooper

the fountain story....

on a drive past the goodwill store.......i spotted this fountain.......................dare i even pull in to check it out........talked myself out of it.............................turned around......went back................walked quickly to check the tag.......$15 !!!........oh my could it really be.......(doesn't work!).............................well for $15 ....i thought i can live with that just as a feature in the yard.............................purchase made.....................................................stopped by a greenhouse to see about a new pump......................................the lady took it to the restroom, worked on it a bit, cleaned the lime deposits................................................it worked..............................wow....$15
that was two years ago...................................and we did have to find a new pump eventually......but i have so loved and enjoyed my best bargain ...................ever ! ....................................................................................................i am blessed !
